The Add-on Page is a step in the checkout flow that lets buyers add tickets for additional events before completing checkout. This allows buyers to support more than one draw in a single transaction.
Example of the Add-on Page in checkout.
- Event title
- Countdown to the event’s end date
- Current estimated jackpot amount (50/50 events only)
- Grand prize title (Sweepstakes events only)
These details are pulled into the page dynamically from the event details in the admin portal.
Editable Areas of the Page
To help make the page feel more tailored to each client, the following areas can be customized:
- Header Text
“You’re In! Now Boost Your Odds” is the default page header, but this can be updated to suit the client’s branding and messaging needs.
Maximum characters: 35 - Subheader Text
“Add exclusive bonus draws to your order and increase your odds.” is the default subheader and can also be customized.
Maximum characters: 70 - Prize Images
Each add-on event displayed on the page includes a prize image. Images can be provided in any standard file format and should ideally have equal height and width dimensions to ensure they fit the space correctly. We recommend supplying images at a minimum size of 200x200px. Images will automatically be scaled down as needed once added to the site. - Colours
The two Continue buttons and + icons will automatically use the colour selected on the landing page (which is recommended for site continuity). However, these can also be customized specifically for this page by providing a custom hex colour code.
Availability
The Add-on Page is available only on Payload sites.
It is shown only when the main event has at least one active dependent event. Only 50/50 and Sweepstakes event types are supported as add-on events.
An add-on event appears on the page only while it is active. If an add-on event closes or reaches its end date, it no longer appears.
How it works
Buyers first select tickets for the main event in Step 1 of checkout. After that step, the Add-on Page appears if one or more eligible add-on events are active.
Add-on events are displayed according to the visual order number configured in the Admin Portal.
From this page, buyers can review available add-on events, choose ticket options, and continue through checkout. Buyers can also continue without selecting an add-on event.
Page content
For each add-on event, the page displays the event title, and a countdown showing when the event ends.
Additional event information is pulled automatically from the add-on event:
- For 50/50 events, the current estimated jackpot
- For Sweepstakes events, the grand prize title
Ticket price options are shown for each add-on event and follow the order configured in the Admin Portal.
A badge can be displayed on any price point to highlight it. The badge text is customizable and can be used for different purposes, e.g. to show text such as "Best Value" or "Bonus Tickets."
Page text and images on the Add-on Page can be customized. However, event specific details such as the title, countdown, estimated jackpot, and grand prize title are pulled from the add-on event.
