The POS app now includes configurable Image Density and QR Code Density settings for printed tickets.
These settings allow operators to control how dark the client logo and QR code are printed, helping to reduce printer overheating during long selling sessions while maintaining ticket readability and QR code scanning performance.
Why was this introduced?
Some events print a high volume of tickets that include a client logo and QR code. Printing these darker graphics continuously can cause the device's printer to generate more heat over extended periods, which may impact printing performance.
To help improve printer reliability, operators can now adjust the print density for both images and QR codes directly within the POS app.
Using Printer Density Settings
Within the app, open the hamburger icon in the top left of the screen, and navigate to the Printer Setup page.
You'll now find two configurable options:
- Image Density
- QR Code Density
Each setting can be configured independently using one of three options:
- Light (Default)
- Normal
- Dark
Recommended Setting
The default setting for both Image Density and QR Code Density is Light.
This setting:
- Reduces the likelihood of printer overheating during long print sessions.
- Maintains print quality for logos.
- Ensures QR codes remain scannable while using less heat.
Operators should only increase the density if darker print output is required.
Important Note
If both Image Density and QR Code Density are set to Dark, the printer may generate additional heat during prolonged printing sessions.
For this reason, the POS app displays a warning when both settings are configured to Dark.
Below are examples of tickets printed using the three settings. (Left is light, the middle ticket is normal density, and the right ticket is dark).
