The Email List section in Velocity allows organizations to upload a list of their customers’ email addresses. This list is used for sending fundraising communications, such as campaign announcements and updates.
Organizations can either upload a CSV file of their contact list or connect directly to an Email Service Provider (ESP) such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact. In this article we will cover the CSV upload.
Uploading an Email List (CSV)
To upload the email list manually:
From the Organization Dashboard, select Email Setup from the left-hand menu.
Download the provided CSV template to ensure the file is correctly formatted.
Add the contact information to the csv using the following columns:
First Name (required)
Last Name (required)
Email Address (required)
Save the file as a
.csvbefore uploading.Select the Choose CSV file to upload option.
Find the relevant file on your computer and upload.
Velocity will automatically validate the file. If any errors are detected (for example, missing or invalid email addresses or duplicates within the file), a message will appear showing which rows need to be corrected. The user can then re-upload the corrected file.
After Upload
Once the upload is successful:
The list will now be linked to any campaign emails sent through Velocity for that program.
The list will show as saved on the page and can be deleted at any time - the user can also upload a new csv using the same steps mentioned above.
Note: Uploaded email lists are used only for runtime processing during campaign sends. Velocity does not store or display personal email data after the send process, ensuring compliance with privacy standards.
