To refund a purchase from authorize.net which processes online transactions only and not in venue it will depend on if the transaction is attempting to be refunded the same day.
Transactions from the same day:
- Login to your authorize.net account
- Scroll down to the bottom left
- Look for Unsettled Transactions
- From here you may need to click on show all
- Find the transaction in question
- Click on the transaction ID
- Click on void
- This will void the transaction
Transactions from a previous day
- Login to your authorize.net account
- Click on Search for a Transaction
- Input either the customers name (first or last or both) or the transaction ID if this is known
- Click on search
- Once found click on the transaction ID
- Click on refund
- Refund the amount requested
Note that transactions can take 48-72 hours to be posted.
